   The hood comes off

   The fox hood detaches from the jacket. Take it off before any kind of cleaning, and before storing the jacket for a season. With the pelt off, the two halves can each be looked after the way they actually need.

   Washing the jacket

   With the hood removed, the jacket itself is washable. Cold, gentle cycle, inside out, mild detergent, and hang it to dry. Never tumble dry it, and never put the pelt in the machine, on any setting, for any reason.

   After wearing

   Shake the fur out and hang the jacket on a wide hanger with room on either side. Fur crushes if it is stored pressed against other garments.

   How to clean the fox

   Shake out the pelt outdoors to remove loose dust, dirt and debris. Brush gently with a wide-tooth comb or a wire pet brush to untangle the guard hairs, always in the direction the fur naturally falls. Lift light dust with a specialty dry sponge, wiping gently over the surface without pressing hard.

   Storage

   Cool, dark and breathing. Cotton garment bag, never plastic. Do not vacuum-seal, and do not hang it in direct light for months.

• Vacuum-seal
• Ordinary dry cleaner

Wear it

None of the above means be precious with it. The jacket is washed before assembly so it will bruise and fade where you move, and that is the point. The fur is the part that needs the care, the jacket itself is meant to be lived in.
